Saxophonist and composer Sam Knight presents his debut album, Knight Life, a fusion of instrumental jazz and captivating vocals.

A graduate of Guildhall School of Music, Sam collaborates with esteemed European artists such as Maria Rehakova, Giuseppe Pucciarelli, Felix Rabin, Ester Wiesnerova, and Elephant Talk. Through these collaborations, Sam has embarked on international tours spanning the UK, Europe, and most recently, Mexico. His artistic contributions extend beyond playing the sax, encompassing roles in writing, production, and providing guidance on musical arrangements - recently serving as a co- producer for the soft-rock band The Goodbye Look. In addition, he records saxophone and vocals for international artists on a daily basis. Since 2020, Sam has remotely recorded for more than 100 clients worldwide, honing and refining his home recording techniques during this period. His commitment to musical excellence and personal growth during these pandemic years has led to the culmination of his debut album, 'Knight Life', which showcases his evolved and refined skills.

The album serves as a reflection of a transitional stage in the artist's life. It eloquently captures moments of profound realisation, the acceptance of life's inherent realities, and the awakening of the soul's deepest yearnings. This artistic journey delves into the myriad facets of human existence, from grappling with mortality and lost years to navigating the intricate realms of creativity, depression, and stress. Amidst these themes, the album skilfully weaves a thread of optimism that illuminates a path toward a brighter and more grounded future. It's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless potential for growth and transformation that resides within us all. Through its powerful compositions and dynamic solos, ’Knight Life' becomes not only a musical experience but a deeply personal exploration of the human condition.

The title track "Knight Life" features the legendary Seamus Blake, resulting in an exhilarating collaboration born from Sam's craftsmanship tailored to Seamus' distinctive tenor sound and style.

Influenced by saxophonists and composers like Michael Brecker, Chris Potter, Seamus Blake, Pat Metheny, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Gil Goldstein, and Claus Ogerman, Sam's music also incorporates vibrant flavours from Afro-Cuban, Samba, and Flamenco genres. The recording process involved studio sessions in Italy and over 300 vocal tracks that Sam recorded at home with just a duvet and a microphone. With an intuitive ear and imaginative use of the human voice, he has created captivating and intricate compositions.

Sam's debut album stands as a musical milestone, capturing his life's moments and the people who shaped him. Its captivating compositions bring wondrous, beautiful, and introspective moments to life, while also reflecting heartbreak and melancholy. Sam's vibrant music reflects the colours of his life, inviting listeners to join him on his journey.
